"I have a very strong financial background and a very strong interior design background. This makes me unique as a broker. I can visualize, I can stage, and I can help with the math."
Early on, Joan became interested in real estate as she watched her family successfully parlay marginal properties in Brooklyn to small rental buildings in Manhattan.
“I grew up believing that real estate was safe, controllable, and tangible long term investment and the key to the ‘American Dream'. Despite the current changing market, the basic logic that lies behind purchasing owner occupied residential real estate is sound over the long run
· Homeownership gives you tax breaks while you pay for your investment.
· Home ownership protects you from rent inflation in the rental market. Your monthly payments go towards your future and not the landlord’s.
· Whether you are in a rapidly appreciating market or not, you can pay off your home, earn equity and enjoy appreciation over the long term.
· A home is generally a person’s biggest asset and can be a safety net for retirement years.
· Home equity can come in handy for big expenses such as college tuition.
· Raising a family in a beautiful well loved home and getting your investment back on the sale (plus appreciation) and tax breaks is not a bad deal!
· Home ownership increases pride, independence and security. It is the only investment you get to live in.
With a sound mix of prudence and leverage most persons can be homeowners. I aim to help make this happen for my clients.”
Joan has been living in Larchmont with her Husband since 1990, where she has raised her 2 daughters. She has been active in The Westchester Jewish Center, The Murray Avenue School, The Windward School and The American Cancer Society.
